Regi Yonkers is our Wee Ones lead teacher. She is a passionate Montessori teacher who loves creating a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. She especially enjoys bringing creativity and hands-on experiences into the classroom. Outside of school, Regi is an artist who loves painting, cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time by the water and at her family’s farm.

My name is Pamela Edwards and I have worked at MSPI since March 2026. I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 3 nephews who light up my world! I was born and lived in N.C. my entire life until 2025. I began teaching in 2003 and have taught children from age 3 to 10th grade. My primary focus was working with kindergarten and first grade students. I've taught students who are typically functioning as well as those who are neurodivergent or have developmental delays. My role at MSPI is the Wee Ones aftercare teacher. I look forward to partnering with you in the education of your child!

Born and raised in Southern California and Northern Virginia, Heidi received a BFA in Music Performance from Ithaca College and completed Master's Studies in Arts Management from American University in Washington, DC. After working for several arts organizations and performing as a cellist with various orchestras and chamber ensembles in the Washington, DC area, Heidi moved to Pawleys Island with her three children. All three of her children graduated from Coastal Montessori Charter School. Heidi worked as the music teacher at Coastal Montessori Charter School, the Waccamaw String Program, and the Montessori School of Pawleys Island. Several years ago, Heidi began working as the teaching assistant in the Primary 1 class and then she became the teaching assistant in Toddler 2 and eventually Toddler 1. After completing her NAMC Diploma in Infant, Toddler and Two's, she became the lead teacher in the Toddler 1 class. Heidi enjoys traveling, acting, painting, playing the cello, and spending time with her family.

Myriam lives on Pawleys Island with her husband, 16 year old lab, and their cat. Originally from Paris, France, she has lived on three continents. She is the mother of three Montessori-educated children and a proud grandmother of four, three of whom are Montessori graduates currently living in North Macedonia and Greece. Myriam holds a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education, along with Montessori certificates for Infants-2 years and ages 3-6. With over 40 years of experience, she has served as a teacher, assistant director, and director, including seven years at MSPI. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Holistic Health. Her accomplishments include mentoring American Indian individuals to become early childhood educators, launching an early childhood program for the YMCA in California, working as a Martial Arts instructor for Charleston County, and being honored as Charleston County's Apple Teacher of the month. Myriam values mindful movement and practices in Tai Chi and Yoga.

Joyce grew up in a military family. She graduated from Southern Methodist Bible College with a Certificate in Biblical Studies. She was married to Reverend John Carson Morris (passed in 2021) and raised eight children: four boys and four girls. Joyce taught kindergarten for one year at Alice Birney Elementary School, Charleston, SC. She went on to open her own school called Tomorrowland Inc. (child care center) in Charleston, SC. She operated the school 24 hours a day seven days a week for 23 years. Over the years she has had experience teaching all ages in Sunday School classes and Children's Church. Joyce worked at the Montessori School of Pawleys Island from April 2013 - 2020 and November 2024 until now. Joyce remarried to Jet Nixen in 2023. Joyce loves working with children!
